woohoo, open options > advanced options > default services. Make sure the default CICAL and default CMIME are (a) set to email addresses, (b) set to the same email address, and (c) set to the same address set as the default in Outlook. Then try another sync.
I'm not sure step (c) really matters. For me it didn't matter until I switched to new BlackBerry with OS 5 and also simultaneously upgraded Desktop Manager and Outlook. If your default Outlook email account is also configured in BIS on your handset, go ahead and do step (c) just to play it safe.
