My friend gave me a Verizon 8330 Curve & it is locked to Verizon. I have Metro PCS for my son is it possible to get this phone flashed & use it for Metro PCS? Thanks in advance,

I think the phone may be flashed to Metro but you may get all the BlackBerry features. I'm not entirely sure bt its worth searching around -- I know this topic has been discussed before.

You might call them and verify the particulars such as actual charges and rate plans.

You can flash it to metro with the following caveats...

1. It wont officially be supported beyond voice and sms
2. Blackberry data most likely wont work, but you said that is irrelevant.

Also, make sure to get the programming code from verizon first. I believe its ##000000 then the enter key. If it works youd see a service edit screen, just exit without changing for now, but you need that to enter the metro number once flashed etc if you do
