Default 8700c vs 8700r

are there any differences between the 8700r and 8700c besides the obvious housing colour and brandings?

i've heard that the 8700c from cingular does not include the html browser

If anything warranty... Should anything happen to your 8700c and your not a Cingular client you could be up a creek if you need a replacement. With Rogers if your within the one year device warranty you just call the data dept. and they'll send you a replacement device. FWIW the build quality of the 8700 is just awful. I'm on my third 8700 soon to be changing carriers and looking forward to the rugged appeal of the 7520 or 7250 for that matter.

finch raises a good point to consider
the warranty issue would perhaps be my biggest fear. regardless of how well you may keep your blackberry, it may still be susceptible to internal defects within the unit... in such occassions having the manufacturer's warranty would "save your life".
