Strangely, a user of mine just recently started getting dups of certain contacts on the Blackberry.

In Outlook, the contact doesn't show up as a dup, there's only one.

I thought that it might have been pulling different addresses for some strange reason, but no, it is copying the exact same address.

What I've tried so far :

I've wiped the Blackberry : It's a Verizon 7250 btw, sorry. I'm also running BES 4.0.3.

I've re-activated it and everything sync'd up 100%.

the same contacts are still duplicating.

I really have no idea what is going on.

My next plan of attack was just shutting off the wireless sync for just the address book, and plugging it in and seeing if that still copied the dups over.

Anyone else have any suggestions, or if anyone ever had this happen to them?

I just notice it on one of my users. Recently upgraded to BES 4.0.1.4 (SP1/hotfix1) and 4.0 handheld. This guy also gets dup calendar.

I am in the process of upgrading ESM2000 to ESM 2003 on the BES server (Win2kSP4) I have Exch 2003 no sp running on a seperate win2003SP1 server. Ive played around with the cdo.dll files for a week now to no avail. So now its bump the ESM to 2003 and install BES 4's SP3.

Well.. I just disabled wireless sync for his contacts.

Cleared his contacts out and resync'd... everything seems ok.

Also, I noticed an option to "allow duplicate names" under options in the calendar (on the blackberry). I set that to "no."

We'll see how it goes, I'll let you know

Ive done the same thing for my user...but I cant say Im satisfied until the problem is fixed. I'll keep you posted too.

I've come across this a few times with BES and Domino. At one point I synched the addresses, created a copy of the users Notes address book, deleted the contents of the original and then resynched it. At this point several more entries were synched down into the Notes address book. Once I'd deleted these extra entries, and resynched without getting more additions, I cut/pasted the correct contents from the backup.
