Please Login to Remove!

i recently purchased a bb7520 i am happy with it so far. i wanted to get a data plan, but the representative on the phone told me that when you put a phone simcard into a bb that it will eventually fry it. is this true? or was he just pulling my leg. the sim card is from an i850 if that is any help

Read this thread. He was not pulling your leg. Sometime you can get away with it for a long time, sometimes you can't. http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=12913

so it says it will work with the 3 digit sim cards
since everything is working fine bluetooth and what not does that mean i will be able to "get away" with using the sim card?

Lets put it this way. If you don't get away with it, you may to have to buy another SIM card. How often are you willing to do that? Also, what if it the B gets damaged? There are other threads on this. I would not take a chance myself. Nextel is recommending you use the one for the BB because of these issues and trying to avoid more customer complaints and dissatisfaction.

ok these are the last few questions
1. how much does a blackberry sim cost?
2. is it possible to have both a blackberry sim and regular sim active?
e.g. so i can make phone calls from both with just one plan
3. is there some sort of technical reason as to why the bb fries sim cards? is it a voltage thing or something?

looking at the picture of those sim cards im guessing the one on the left is from a 3 digit phone and the one on the left is the bb one. however when i upgraded to the i850 the sim card i received looks exactly like the one on the right which im assuming is the bb sim card. I think im gonna risk this one and see where i end up.

thank you very much for your answers to my questions.
