Default double-click on convenience key?

Please Login to Remove!

I was wondering if this is just my Torch, or do they all do this?

I notice that when I push the convenience key on the side of the phone,
it clicks, and if I push it harder it clicks again. It's like it has two positions (like the shutter button on a digital camera). I find I have to push it hard enough to get two clicks before the assigned app opens.

So do I just have a faulty button, or is it designed this way so that some application could take advantage of it?

Personally i have never heard of it. i figure if one would have that option, they should all have it. you may just have a strange sounding button but as long as it works i think that's what's important.

The reason that the key behaves "like the shutter button on a digital camera" is because it is, in fact, the shutter button on a digital camera. Your button is not faulty. It defaults to being the shutter release for the phone's auto-focus camera.

Well, I should have tried it out. Thanks. When I have the camera open, the first click does do the focus thing, and the second takes the picture. I suppose I could have found that in the help somewhere. Thanks for the pointer.
