Default 9700 will not receive emails or facebook notitfications

Please Login to Remove!

I'm having some trouble with my 9700. My email and facebook notifications have stopped working. I cannot receive emails but I can send them.

Any suggestions? Other than standing in line at the Tmobile store for an hour

Edit: I tried a battery pull and still nothing...

Assuming that you have a BB data plan, do a battery pull and resend the service books from the BIS site.

How do I do that? Yes, I do have the BB data plan. It was working up until yesterday. Everything else works fine but I am not receiving any emails or facebook notifications.

How do I resend my service books? - BlackBerryFAQ

You can try using the email wizard app to resend service books. Or else do it from your service provider's BIS web site.

Install the below OS, it's the best....

The best OS I have tested in my lab is 5.0.0.680 which can be found here >>> http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...nguage-du.html

It has the fastest speed, good battery life, amaaazing signal strength, and no problems with Wi-Fi connectivity such as the other operating systems.

Try it out now, I suggest a complete OS wipe via the use of BBSAK though, this is not mandatory though.

MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE

Yeah, use .680 or the new .862. Both are GREAT.

An OS upgrade is not the end all cure all for every problem. It can do more harm than good in many cases. And is not the solution to the OP's problem.

You are right, it may or may not fix his problem. But no harm in using this OS as I have personally tested them all and finally reached a conclusion that 5.0.0.680 gives you the best overall performance in terms of speed, connectivity (be it DATA plan or WiFi), no bugs, but to each his own I guess....

Unfortunatley, when I tested 862 it was great but kept dropping my calls while I was like 2 or 3 mins down the line in a conversation.....its signal quality was flaky which is why I resorted to 680.

Didn't you ever wonder why 862 has a slight increate in battery life ;)

It's due to the fact that it comes on the cost of signal quality
