I activated Push To Talk (PTT) on my AT&T BlackBerry Curve. I have not actually used PTT though. I signed out of PTT however a blue dot remains on the home screen (next to where the message envelope appears etc.).

How do I remove the blue dot? I tried removing the battery, sim card, memory card but this made no difference.

Any ideas?

I don't think you can get rid of that once you've activated PTT. Do you plan on using/keeping PTT? If not you can remove it from your device completely when you upgrade your OS.

you can always select the PTT icon, press the BB key and select hide.

or move it to a folder so it's out of the way.

I had the same question, so I called ATT support. The rep told me they would need to disable PTT on my account to remove the indicator icon from the phone. Or I could remove PTT altogether during a wipe/reinstall or upgrade.

To remove the blue dot that remains after activating and then deactivating PTT by canceling the service through at&t, go back into PTT and initialize it. Click Cancel at the prompt telling you PTT charges will apply. Escape out of the initialization and the blue dot should disappear. I know this seems counter intuitive, but the att rep told me to do this and it worked. I am writing this from memory after having done it and I do not remember if I had to click Accept at the prompt that PTT charges would apply. Try it without accepting first and if that does not work, click Accept. The PTT service never re-activated nor was I ever charged again, so I am thinking I did not have to click Accept. Please report your experience back to the forum.
