To remove the blue dot that remains after activating and then deactivating PTT by canceling the service through at&t, go back into PTT and initialize it. Click Cancel at the prompt telling you PTT charges will apply. Escape out of the initialization and the blue dot should disappear. I know this seems counter intuitive, but the att rep told me to do this and it worked. I am writing this from memory after having done it and I do not remember if I had to click Accept at the prompt that PTT charges would apply. Try it without accepting first and if that does not work, click Accept. The PTT service never re-activated nor was I ever charged again, so I am thinking I did not have to click Accept.
