I have another question I'm hoping someone here can help me with. I'm looking at possibly buying a used BB over eBay or something like that. If the phone says it's a Cingular/AT&T or T-Mobile or something phone, and I would need to use Rogers up here in Canada - is it possible to have it switched or is it that once it's been set to a company - that's the company it will only work with from then on. Any help?
Thanks
You can get GSM/GPRS phones (Cingular and T-Mobile) unlocked so they will work with a foriegn carrier. You'll probably have to pay someone (bongowireless.com) to get your phone unlocked. I think Bongo charges $100.00 or so.
Another option is to just buy a used phone that has already been unlocked, and hopefully the seller is honest about it.
