Default Enforce a custom theme

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, we plan to deploy 500 bolds in about 2 weeks and our management want to enforce a custom theme with our corporate logo.

I already found a way to enforce a background on the custom theme I made by setting a full screen homescreen banner. (so users can't change the background image)

I deleted every default themes except precision zen because custom themes (wrongly!) depend on it.

Theme restrictions in the software policies will just delete custom themes...

- How can I hide precision zen, so only my custom theme would appear in the options ?
- How can I modify the default precision zen ?
- How can I hide the "Themes" option ?

With so many useless yet detailed/complex features in the whole blackberry solution, I can't beleive there is no simple way to enforce a theme !

Please, please help me find out ;)

Custom theme in Plazmic cdk:
- Banner / Homescreen banner / tick "full screen banner" and add a 480x320 custom background.
- Homescreen / tick "render homescreen over banner"

Still useless if users can change theme back to precision zen

One company (HSBC) does a wireless IPD deployment during activation, thus allowing them to provision the devices via a wireless restore when the device first activates on the server. This process is not documented for public use (nor do I have it), although they discussed it at WES 2007.

Aside from that, you cannot hide themes, nor can you remove those that custom themes are based on (for example, if you make a theme based on Precision Zen, you won't be able to remove the original theme from the device, else the custom theme won't work).

For now, I would stick to wired restores of a custom backup. RIM should - one day - release a custom provisioning method to allow for locked down devices with regards to all of the asthetics (themes, ringtones, etc). Until then...
