Default Setting Security Code

Please Login to Remove!

This is a dumb question, I am not completely sure how to set a security code for my 8320.

options>security options>gen settings>password - then options to enabled or disabled. If I set it to enable and then go to save, will the phone prompt me to make up a security code?

I don't want to set it to enable unless I am sure I will have an opportunity to set a code for the phone...

Thank you everyone!

Yes, when you select save it will prompt you to enter a password, then confirm it.

If you would ever want to disable it (after you set it), you will need to enter the password to disable it.

THANKS! I thought so, but wanted to make sure that was the option!

If I enable security when phone is in holster, I will have to enter the security code before I can answer a call. Correct?

Any advice on what is preferable in setting the options?

password attempts? 5?
security timeout? 2 min?

You shouldn't have to put your password in to answer a call. To place a call you would.
I keep the password attempts at 10. It gives you some room if you accidentally have caps or num lock on. It is all preference.

I have the timeout at 2 mins. Some others think that is too short, mess around with it until you find what you're comfortable with.
