I have a co-worker that wants to sell me her BB Bold (new- still in the box) for $225. I have a Curve 8310. Is it worth it?

Worth it?? Heck yeah it's worth it. Have you priced these new?

You should take into consideration; locked to a particular carrier? was it really really brand new in box when she got it or possibly a refurb unit?

Know what you're getting.....check out this FAQ, as some of the points still apply even with a friendly transaction.

I agree that it's worth it. You could then always sell your 8310 to get back some of the money. Think of it as a mail in rebate

If you have a chance to inspect the device and it is new, and you trust the seller, it's a good deal.

To you? How can we answer that question? If you don't know then check out its features at Blackberry.com. As others have said, you can compare pricing on ebay to get a rough idea of what they're selling for.

Wirelessly posted (at&t BlackBerry Bold 9000)

A littler perspective: I just bought a Bold brand new, locked for at&t and paid $100 more than what your co-worker is asking, and that's with a 2-year contract.

You, however, would be paying $100 less and not having to extend your contract. To me, that would definately be worth it. I would take it without thinking twice.

But that's just me.
