Default Windows NT and 7750

Please Login to Remove!

Hello.

Our company is in the middle of upgrading our arsenal of 950's to 7750's.

However, we still have some workstations that are still using Windows NT 4.0.

NT 4.0 doesn't support USB.

Now, these users have no way to sync their contacts and mail.

Has anyone run into the same situation?

Thanks,

Dave

If you have BES 4.0, you don't have a problem, as you can wirelessly sync and activate devices. You just need to make sure the handhelds have been upgraded to 4.0 as well. The only thing the users can't do is charge or load apps that can't be downloaded OTA. If your BES is not at 4.0, and you have at least level 1 TSupport, you can upgrade at no extra charge. I did some searching for a serial cradle, but didn't see anything. Other than upgrading your NT stations, there doesn't seem to be much of an option.

Just curious, but is there a reason you are replacing the 950s with 7750s? The 7750 is not exactly held in very high regard.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

We're still on BES 3.6. I'm trying to find out if we still have any support left.

4.0 would be the best solution, as I haven't had any luck locating any software or hardware that will allow me to use USB on the NT machines.

Upgrading the machines is definitely an option.

As for the 7750's, they are at a price we can afford now $0 on a contract.

All our 950's are, of course, with Rogers. Since we were purchased, we've been instructed to move to Bell.

Personally, I have a 7250 and am quite pleased with it.

I'll do a little more investigating, and reply back soon.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Dave
