Default Does Erase data and disable handheld...

Please Login to Remove!

Sent from the BES Admin console actually erase everything; does this include text messages, etc? Had a user loose their phone and we want to make sure none of the data on the phone is accessible by who ever has it.

Welcome to the forums.

If the command makes it to the phone, it will wipe all data from the device.

If there is a chance of finding it you could used the "set password and lock handheld" command. But to answer your question Yes.

I assume the following entry in the log file shows the command was accepted by the phone:

Ok. a littel of topic. But I'm arguing with my it folks(who are bes clueless).

Is there anyway to just wipe out the enterprise mail on a blackberry. As opposed to personal email etc? Can you pick choose was gets the wipe or is it all or nothing. I am kind of thinking it is all or nothing...

Can someone confirm?

For instance if a personal device was hooked to a bes and the person was fired or (left amicably) Would IT/BES administrations be able to remove those business confidential email without touching or deleting the other mail boxes/information etc that were the employee's own domain?

I realize the backups for blacbberries Store 99% of what is on the device but is the above possible.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Was planning on deleting and re-posting in general...but I figured the people that know would be here. But then you replied.

Thanks again. And <drat>. Your response is much appreciated despite the outcome.
