I have the backlight set to 10 but I can still tell there is a brighter mode it goes into when you are in a low light area or at night. My problem is that I always want t max bright and it only does it under said conditions.

I am in a truck in the desert all day for work and the glare and brightness of the whole environment make it hard to see. When it does go into max brightness for a second it is like heaven for my eyes.

Under screen and keyboard I have brightness at 10 and auto dim turned off.

What's going on here?

Welcome to the forums.

Look for an app called BBLight. It is free and you can configure it to keep the backlight on. This can cause your battery to drain fast.
