Hello, when I try to upload the app via our BAS I get the following error -

The following cod file(s) referenced in Facebook.alx is/are missing in the publishable bundle: net_rim_bb_facebook_resource_large net_rim_bb_facebook net_rim_bb_facebook_w_help_en net_rim_bb_facebook_lib net_rim_bb_facebook_resource net_rim_bb_facebook_resource_en net_rim_bb_facebook_help_en


All files are within the zip file. Has anyone had the same/similar errors ?

Any help appreciated.

No. Where did you get the facebook.alx file from? Maybe it doesn't reference the files correctly.

Also, the latest device OSs already include the Facebook client. Which version of OS are you trying to install the Facebook client to?

Hello freakin,

I got the .alx from the .au blackberry forum, somebody had posted it for another user sometime ago. I need to add it to the BES to push from there so need a copy of the zip file as it seems the only option I can find elsewhere is to download direct to handset - confused how others have pushed from BES or am I missing something?, handsets are a variety of models and ages.

I have also been tasked with doing the same for twitter but think I will have the same issues. ANy pointers appreciated.

The .alx file is a simple text file, so you can look at it and check if it references the .cod files correctly.

I had already looked and whilst it references the cod files, I have no idea if it does this correctly. If I do it per handset (to get around this) can I still manage from BAS ?

I found another copy of the facebook.zip on internet but when I try to upload I get - The application files are not packaged correctly. The application could not be published.

This is my first time trying to add an app via BES/BAS and I thought it would be straight forward !!!

The process is working, I have done that for a lot of Apps. But you need to get the .alx and .cod's from an official source.

Freakin that is the problem. The only 'official' way is to download to a handset direct that I can see ? I have been asked to push it out via bes. Are you aware of any 'official' source of the alx and cod files for facebook and twitter ?

I have never deployed the Twitter or Facebook App, as they already come with the OS (version 6). If you don't get the official alx from RIM, you can still use the method described here:

The alx and cod files you get from there are the ones you need.
