Default My BB Curve 9360 keeps setting off store anti-theft alarms

Please Login to Remove!

My company sent me a new Curve 9360 at the beginning of October and it sets off store anti-theft alarms. At first, it was just once in a while and if I went back & forth through the doors, it wouldn't do it again. But, yesterday at the mall, it was EVERY STORE! ...and it's annoying!

I've located 2 old posts on here, on this issue, and it seems most people thinks the poster is nuts: store people keep dismissing it as being something other than the BlackBerry. Sorry, folks, but I never set off a store alarm in my life until I got this thing. And it's not something in my clothes because I'm not wearing anything new, I wear the same basic outfit every day.

Does anyone else have this problem with their Curve or other BlackBerry?

Every couple of months a post like this appears.
In every instance I can remember, the problem was not with the BlackBerry device... but rather with the case that was holding it. In one instance, it turned out to be the user's new wallet, which they forgot that they started using around the same time they got their new BlackBerry.

Take a GOOD look at the things in your pocket, including your BlackBerry's case, if you have one.
I suspect there is a security rfid tag stuck somewhere. I would even check the bottom of your shoes, because you might have stepped on a tag and not even realized it.

Personally, I have never seen the BlackBerry device turn out to be the cause of this.

Yes, I would recommend passing just the BlackBerry through the sensor and see if it sets it off.

Have a store employee do it to take yourself out of the equation.

Battery pull? They say it sorts everything. xD
Just kidding.
