Default Unlocked 7100t from eBay... T-Mobile Setup?

Please Login to Remove!

No doubt I should've asked this and thought about it before pulling the trigger on an eBay purchase of an unlocked 7100t.

Now that my device will be here Friday, what's the first thing I'm gonna do to set it up for use on T-Mo? Should I wait 'til it comes to change my plan or should I make that call and get it done now?

Once I order the service, will T-Mo push settings to my new device or am I gonna have to download 'em from somewhere?

Brief history: I had a 7100t last May and kept it only a couple of months. I realized that was a mistake and just made my eBay purchase. My 1st 7100t was bought from T-Mobile, so everything just worked out of the box. Will the experience be the same now?

First, wait till you get the device. Then call and have the data plan that's right for you added. It may not be the unlimited plan (but for most it is).

The settings should be pushed to your device. You may have to do a reset, but other than that your good to go.

Locked or Unlocked your device should work on T-MO's network, as the 7100t designation means it's branded and locked for T-Mo from the get-go

Pop in your SIM card and call up T-Mo and have them add the unlimited blackberry data plan (make sure they re-provision your SIM card for Blackberry data services!). I would wait

Once I order the service, will T-Mo push settings to my new device or am I gonna have to download 'em from somewhere?

they will be pushed

should be the same, as long as the handheld has no IT policy on it (if the former owner had BES and the policy[a BES function that can limit the capabilities of the device] was not removed before selling). I hope you asked about that before taking that plunge, good luck to you

Damn, guys. Best. Forum. Ever.

I ask my question. I go get some water and kiss my son goodnight. Then 8 minutes later, great answers are at the ready.

Can I trouble you all for one more question?

When I had my first 7100t last summer, I had some software which resided both on my Mac and my BlackBerry. It allowed me to drop pictures into it, then sync them to the handheld. I don't remember the name of it and now the only thing I can find in searches is "BerryPix." I don't think that was it. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

It's a factory refurb, factory sealed. There shouldn't be any limitations on the device.

Hmm, I'm not intimately familiar with the MAC OS, so I'm not sure. I do know (and I'm sure you do to) that you can e-mail yourself pictures as attachments and save them to the device, thereby performing essentially the same function

if there is an IT policy on your BB, how do you get rid of it?

You search for "remove IT policy" and follow the instructions on the web site there....

Yes. A simple search is all it would take.
