So I stopped getting emails (BES + BIS) and data services (MDS, t-zones browser works fine) on my T-Mobile 8120. As soon as I connect via WiFi, everything is restored.

The only thing I noticed was that in MDS Activation (never saw that before) I have an activation error. I re-entered my MDS server, but no luck.

Did you try rebooting by removing the battery? It could be a local tower issue in your area too. Does it happen in different locations?

Tried pulling the battery (many times), no luck.

Spoke to T-Mobile support, they did not see any bad towers near me (2 different cities) plus it doesn't work in multiple locations.


I tried to re-Activate (Enterprise) and it didn't do anything. Is it worth it to wipe the handheld and start fresh?

You can't reactivate unless your BES Admin sets a new password.

If you wipe the handheld you will disconnect from your BES and an enterprise activation will be necessary. However, this will tell you if it's a BES issue or not. If all works after the wipe then it's a BES problem. Have you contacted your BES Admin?

BES Admin is on vacation until Wed. :( The backup will be around later today, I guess I should verify the MDS server first.

I do get BES email, but only via WiFi.

Just spoke to RIM (via T-Mobile), it seems that my PIN was locked by RIM. They "unlocked" it, and now everything works. Said it is a very rare issue.

No I need to go back and make sure I undo all of the changes I made.
