Question pdf asking for password?

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded a pdf which I can open with no problem on my computer. When I try to open it on my pearl it asks me for a password for the document. Huh??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Ken

I'm guessing that the pearl opens the pdf in an edit mode and therefore if the pdf is read-only it will need to be unlocked before you can edit it.

It's probably because the pearl needs to format it for viewing and thus 'edit' the file. It won't be able to format the file to fit unless it has full rights to the file.

I was experiencing this same issue with PDF files, however, no longer. One of the things I changed that may have had an affect is that I reset permissions to default for the BlackBerry Attachment Service on my handheld. This is accessible via <Home> Menu > Options > Advanced Options > Applications. Select BlackBerry Attachment Service > Edit Default Permissions and then Menu > Apply Defaults to All.

I can't say for certain this is the one thing that fixed things for me because I was changing a number of things trying to resolve another email attachment issue.

Hope this helps.
