Default Another n00b GPS question, map marking

Please Login to Remove!

I do a lot of photography in remote locations and I'm looking for a GPS solution for marking points on a map so I can correlate it with the images. I've found software that should do the trick as it matches up the time the point was marked on your GPS to the time in the EXIF data of your photo.

Now my question is, is there some way I can do this with my BB (8100)? I'm trying to avoid having to buy another piece of equipment (like a handheld GPS unit) to carry around if I can get away with a smaller BT receiver and utilize it with my phone which I always have with me. I've read the FAQ and a few posts here but haven't really been able to pin down an answer as they mostly pertain to utilizing it for driving directions and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 8100 Pearl: BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If it were me, I'd select "email location" or "copy location". It will create a hyperlink for use on any BB's bbmaps app. But, for you, you could edit it to keep the latitude/longitude numbers for your photos.

Those numbers cut and pasted to Google Earth or maps will work, so I imagine it would be useful for you too.

Like so...

http://maps.BlackBerry.com?lat=38.84042&lon=-105.04250&z=1

38.84042,-105.04250

That is one way. Chronicle Road - Build your own myth. may work too. That is all I am aware of for the BB at this time. Supposedly the new SPOT will enable to log like this to the microSD card. But SPOT's maps are really unrealiable; however the topo map seems to be one of the more reliable ones.
