Question Cannot reply to mail

Please Login to Remove!

I got the handheld to activate to the BES and I can receive e-mail, I get the calendar stuff, but I cannot reply to any e-mails. Where can I check this issue?

Thanks,

Texman

Question

BTW - I have the SEND AS permissions sent on the top OU for my users under the EXCHANGE OBJECTS, I have the BESADMIN account rights to login on locally, log on as a service, and it is is the local administrators group. Is there anything else I could be missing? I cannot send emails as well.

We used to use the GOOD Software for our old MOTO Qs and I could not send there either since I was a domain admin... could this be the same problem?

I encountered this very same problem not too long back. You must make sure the mapi.dll and cdo.dll (i think those are the correct files) files on both the exchange server and the BES server are the same version or else it won't synch properly.

Question

Thanks for the heads up. Here is what I found:

MAIL SERVER:

cdo.dll ver. 6.5.7651.61
drmapi.dll ver. 6.5.6944.0

BES SERVER:

cdo.dll ver: 6.5.6944.0
no drmapi.dll and no mapi.dll files that matches on the BES to what I have on the BES server.

So should i just copy the CDO.DLL file from exchange over the BES server since it is the most current? what about the mapi.dll? Is there a means for me to validate what file (mapi.dll) file I need to have on both servers?

Thanks,

Its the cdo.dll that matters here. And yes, just copy from exch svr to BES. Then register it. It should start working. Once, I had to stop and restart the services to get the problem solved, but that was DST trouble :shivers:

I copied over the cdo.dll and registered it. I am the domain admin and I cannot verify this worked since it is still not working for me (send or reply). I have implemented all the other steps per the other threads (follow the MS KBs) and I'm sure I forgot a step or two, but right now I need to get my licensing cleared up with BB since they sent me the Full enterprise licenses not the Small Business ones... which is what I ordered.

Thanks,

Thumbs down

I have had another user confirm that we cannot reply and send e-mails from our blackberries. What else could we be missing?

Thanks,

Texman

It is also the mapi.dll that is important If you don't have it then you must load the exchange admin pack and that will install the dll files.
