Default Beginner: Email set up problem

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my first blackberry, I used to use 02 PDA phones before this. And I've subscribed to the blackberry internet service when I got the phone, I was told it would take a working day to activate (by now it should be), but I created my account online before it was activated.

Anyhow, my problem is that:
in my email setup screen, I don't see an option for the blackberry internet service. I see 2 options: Enterprise server and to set up email later.

I know I sound really dumb about this, but I don't know how to set up my email, so basically I've been without email on the go for 2 days now. :/

How do I set up email in my Blackberry? And also just to check, the email messages go into the general message folder right? And also, do I have to set the preferences to download the messages every 5 minutes (or so) or will I receive it straightaway?

Thanks in advance

The only dumb question is the one you didn't ask.

Have you read the FAQ? That is usually the best place to start. I think there is a section on setting up email. Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ

You do not want the Enterprise Activation. That is for BES users.

All email goes into the "MESSAGES" folder and into a folder for each account. Delete from one, its gone from both.

Email is automatically pushed to the BB from your various accounts about every 15 minutes or so. No way to change it. Some people who feel they need to receive their mail in near real time use forwarding to gmail or yahoo, but I never saw the need to be THAT connected. A 15 minute delay is fine for what I need.

If you set it up before your blacberry was activated, but the correct pin, etc was input on the BIS system when you set up youor account, you may want to try resending your service books.

just log back in to the carrier's BIS site and choose the resend service books option in the left side menu.

i've sent and resent the service books, but I don't receive anything, is it normal or does it mean the carrier is just really slow with the whole one day activation thing?

kaitlyn, after you send and resend the service books, pull the battery (while the BB is powered on) and let it reboot. The Service Books are installed on boot-up.
