I'm considering getting a BB but have a few questions. Our company is using an external email service. On my laptop I uses Outlook and get my email using POP. Here are the questions:

1) Can I use a POP Email account without requiring additional software or sign up to a BB plan?
2) Can I send emails through the POP Email account without indications (BB email address, "send from...", etc) that the email came from a BB.
3) Can I synchronize the emails from this POP email account with Outlook?

What are the drawbacks by not signing up for a BB plan? I just want a dataplan from AT&T.

1. You will need a BlackBerry dataplan to use email. Period.

2. In the headers it does reveal that it was sent via a BlackBerry. Someone would have to go looking for this info.

3. This is not supported. (Not on BIS)

No BB Dataplan = No Email, PIN Messages, OTA Downloads, and very basic Internet Access using Opera Mini.
