Hi, we have a few of our users traveling to Bahamas, and their regular mobile phone operator does not have a roaming agreement with the local provider (BTC Bahamas), so they had to buy local sim cards.

With the local prepaid sim cards they got BIS data working, but they couldn't sync their contacts and tasks.

Is there any way to allow BES data over their wifi connection there, even though their mobile phone provider does not support BES on the current SIM cards they are using? Should they switch their mobile network off while trying to connect to BES?

The local SIM needs BES service enabled on it. Not likely to happen.
Put the user's original SIM back in and disable the mobile network leaving WiFi enabled.
