just got bold 9000 and free sat nav from Vodafone is not on the apps - free leaflet is in box but app not loaded - help!!!!

Thee is no app for GPS. What you need a map program. BBMaps is there, just difficult to get to.

Try downloading GoogleMaps. You need a BB data plan for any of the map applications to work however.

well there is vodafone sat nav which is supposed ot be loaded and isnt

Did you make sure that somehow the icon isnt hidden? Also Google maps is IMO the best free GPS out for BlackBerry's.

Your SatNav icon could be hidden in either your Applications sub-folder or your Downloads sub-folder.

thanks where do i find those then please complete newbie - also having nightmare getting email started and want to synchronise with my Outlook. any help on that around?

These are separate folders you'll see when you're on your home screen and hit the menu key.

As for syncing with Outlook, you should know the Blackberry doesn't sync email with Outlook. It will sync Addresses, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes. But mail is sent to your Blackberry through the mail servers at RIM, and operates completely independently of how Outlook gets your email. RIM gets new mail from your ISP and sends that new mail to your Blackberry. Outlook goes to your ISP's mail servers and fetches new mail as well, but the two methods are independent of each other.

To sync addresses, tasks, calendar, and notes you use the Blackberry Desktop Software. When you choose to sync for the first time it will walk you through the setup for each thing you choose to sync.
