Having troubles with the 8310 and its ability to change the ring type and use the new setting applied. For instance in normal mode it wont use the individual tones that are applied in the address book and i cant get any sounds for any of my different email accounts.

Tried setting up new profiles fails as well.

Are you setting the ringtones for BOTH in and out of holster settings?

Are the ringtones stored on the Media Card? Are you in Mass Storage Mode on the Media Card and plugged into your PC's USB port?

combination of standard ones and from media card. yes for in and out of holster not connected via usb - stand alone

Then my next question would be what ringtones are not working.. are they mp3s over 512KB in size or over 30 seconds in length?

I have the same problem. They are downloaded custom ringtones, so does the size and length (of the ringtone!) matter?

Yep, as in life, size does matter. Are they under the limits I mentioned above?

Nope, the one in question is 14 seconds, and 82.9kb. I'll chamge the custom setting to another one and see what I get.

Those limits aren't as rigorous as one might suppose. I've got a working ringtone that's 47 seconds and 553KB. They're a good target maximum though.
