we have been using BPS (4.14B) for a few months now, so I would still consider myself a newbie...

My question is as follows.

If I set the delete email "from terminal and mailbox" and I set the email retention to 30 days, what happens after 30 days?
Do messages get deleted from the user's mailbox/terminal or only on the terminal.

Where are you setting the 30 days on device, mail server or PC?

on the terminal, meaning the Blackberry device

The option is in mailbox options, under General Settings --> Keep message. (That's the path on the BB I have, on other, it could differ).

They are removed from device.

But once you set it, the timer start for emails that arrive after setting it. It does not affect emails that are on it already.

You can use delete prior and it will only remove emails from device
