JUst a quick one.
I have had my 9700 for 4 days now.
Have been a hrad core 9000 user for the last 18 months and LOVE IT
I know the right direction is to go for the 9700 BUT I still love my 9000 , which I have given to my wife. I am evben tempted to send the 9700 back and get a new 9000 as I just love the feel of it. Maybe it will take a few more days to get used to it but I do not like the new trackpad.even redone the setting re sensstivity.
Anyone feel the same?
Never had the 9000 but I did have 8100 and 8320. Initially, I missed the tactile feedback of the trackball but I got used to the trackpad pretty quickly. I like it much more than the trackball. So while opinions vary, I'd give it some time!
I took out my 8310 last night which I haven't used for a little while and the trackball felt very strange. I like the trackpad MUCH better and I was a big trackball fan.
Size of the 9000 is perfect. The ball sucks. There are a lot of people waiting for a 9000 form factor device with a trackpad to be released.
You're not alone. My BES admin gets around 5 9700s a month returned asking to be replaced by 9000s.
I sold my 9000 to get my 9700 and I sord of regret it. The 9000 was totally perfect and a lot more manly then the 9700. The screen size and keyboard was perfect, but this trackpad is pretty sick. I'm debating if I should sell my 9700 to get the 9000 again. I shoud just wait for the 9900.
If you put the 9000 and the 9700 next to eachother you will notice the difference in size. The 9000 is a lot more comfortable but that's cause I got so used to it. I also had the 8300 and the keyboard in the 8300 is spaced out while the 9000/9700 stay together for a better feel. The 8300 is dope too.
