Iam running vista tried this on my laptop and my desktop and both with the same results.....when i go to media sync...it gives me a need to download the feature when i click download now it goes threw and at the end desktop manager closes itself and nothing happens....when i reopen i get the samething ....also when i open the app i get a list of updates

inc... theres probably 10 of them i click update now and then takes me to the section i can add remove soft then when i open again i get the same things need update

Right click on DM go to properties then compatibility and then run as admin then save

that didnt work either even went to website downloaded it and uninstalled orig then reinstalled still no go

You can download media seperately from RIMs website, try the stand alone install.

Also make sure you have ran windows update media sync requires a version of .net framework.

Although it sounds like the desktop wants to update you device os, run threw the application loader does it actually update anything if not uninstall and reinstall the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
