Hi,

I've been looking at getting a blackberry and i'm wondering about how much data it actually uses. I've never had a smart phone or any type of non-computer internet browser. The plan I was looking at getting is 500 mb a month, now to me mb means megabytes.

I was reading another thread where people were saying they use anywhere from 30-100 mb a month. Now i'm not sure if mb means something different in the blackberry world.

I've heard blackberrys compress there data so it uses a lot less then other smart phones, mostly the iphone. So what i'm wondering is how much is 500 mb of data actually. I'm mostly gonna be using it for browsing the internet.

So i'm just looking for some clarification on how much browsing 500 mb actually is, because to me someone who has only ever browsed the internet on a computer 500 mb doesn't really seem like a whole lot but on a blackberry it could be way more then I need.

Thanks

No, MB is the standard abbreviation of a megabyte.

I would say, 500MB is more than enough.

Make sure the plan is a BB data plan however. A generic Smartphone plan is not what you need.

It says nothing about being a BB data plan. I looked on the only 2 companies I would go with and they both only say 500 mb, nothing about BB data :S

Not really big into the whole phone thing, yet ^_^ and i'm in Canada so by chance do you know if bell or rogers even has bb data plans?

Took a better look for bb plans and I don't see anything about it being blackberry data just normal smartphone plans

Yes, both Bell and Rogers have BB data plans.
