Default Why can't I see HTML email in my Storm?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all...

From everything I read, HTML email viewing capability has been included since 4.5. Yet on my Storm, no matter where I go into what menu, I cannot see any option to view as text or HTML...

Bueller? Anyone?

I have it Message - Options - Email Settings. It is the third option for all of my email accounts except for my BES email account.

Are pictures just not showing up? In the email, click on the Menu button, and go to "Get Images".

It also has to be supported on the other side, like if your email is work mail on a BES, the server needs to be 4.1SP6.

Nope. I'm seeing everything as plain text.

So if I am on BES, then I'm out of luck?

I don't know the true answer to that. I can not view HTML on my BES email account but my other email accounts I can.......

Like dpeters said, if you're on a BES, that BES must be running a version that supports HTML email. If the BES doesn't support HTML email, the only solution is updating the BES and re-enterprise activating the handheld after the upgrade.

You may also have to reinstall your service books, when I upgraded to 4.5 i had to go to Email Set up and reload Service books, that took care of getting the HTML email

Exactly, now I remember. It is because my company hasn't upgraded BES to support HTML.....

BES servers need to be on version 4.1.5 or higher. In version 4.1.6 it's turned on by default.

I can get HTML on BIS but I have to select "get images" for every email. Is there another setting to make it automatic. It's listed correctly in my email options.

You will have to select get images if that image is a link. It is set that way for security. If the image is embedded into the message you won't have to select "get images", as they will show automatically.
