I got tired of seeing that there was a newer version available so I made a huge mistake and upgraded to version 2.2.8 of Freerange. It didn't take long for me to remember why I stayed at 2.2.6.

I can't read my news when it scrolls by page instead of by line. Scrolling by line allows me to keep what I'm reading centered on the screen but scrolling a complete page breaks my attention as I try to see where I last read. I understand scrolling by page might work for some but it totally doesn't work for me. I need my scroll by line back.

Anyone know how I can either make 2.2.8 scroll by line or where I can find version 2.2.6 so I can go back to what I like?

There is an option on version 2.2.8 to either view text by line or by page. Go to option menu-Setting-Display, then untick "Scroll text by page(instead by line)"

I agree, that is how it always worked until this version. For some reason the feature was disabled. It took me many frustrating hours but this is from the release notes;

FreeRange Feedback :: View topic - FreeRange version 2.2.8 released!

- Space key will now always do a page-down, even if app is set to scroll-by-line. Alt-Space now does a page-up instead of move-to-background. Move-to-background is now Alt-Del.

Not sure why they would leave the option but disable the feature??? Other than this I love this application and really want to keep using it. If I can just find 2.2.6, the feature worked perfectly in that version of the program.

That's a bit strange. Mine is v2.2.8 and it works perfectly fine.I'm able to set the display to either scroll or line. In fact I'm using display by line mode at the moment.

No,there are 3 options other than those 2..mine used "User Choice"
