I have a go phone, if i put the sim card in a 8700c will i be able to text if i add texting to go phone?

You may find that the only thing that works is the phone. ATT requires a data plan for any data transfer but try it, you have nothing to loose.

Text will work. It is independent of data as it works through GSM, not GPRS or EDGE. 8700 actually makes a pretty good GoPhone.
