Default 1500mah Oem Sized Extended Life Battery For Curve

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I have a curve and I use the internet, phone, text, email and IM alot. I noticed that my battery runs out very quick and I feel that I need to charge it 2 times per day. Yesterday I was on my BB for 3 hours starting with a 100% charge and after 3 hr I was down to 55%. With this extended battery how much longer battery life will I really get?

Thanks

I was having the same issues when I first got my 8310 as well. This is what I did to extend my battery life and now I can go several days without having to charge it.

I ran the battery down to 15% then charged it over night. I did this for 3 straight days. I am now able to use my 8310 for several days of 100+ emails/day, some light web surfing and playing games as well as Google Maps and some other things without having battery issues anymore.

Before I did this I was lucky if my 8310 lasted 6 hours before needing a recharge because my wireless would shut off for too little battery being left.

It will take several charge cycles before the battery shows its full life.

I have the 1500mAh battery and it feels like a 15-20% boost to battery life. Now that I have stopped using the Curve for music it gives me 2-3 days of moderate use.

I've been using the 1500mAh battery for a week now, and have noted a real improvement over the stock offering. To echo what's been posted...3-4 full charges are recommended before you see the potential realized. A very real 20% gain in battery life is possible, depending on your level of usage.

I will have a full review of this, as well as a couple of other 83xx Curve-specific products posted in the next day or so.

With the stock battery I would get home with <40% charge at the end of the day. That meant if I were late at work or going out, there was a change I'd run out of juice before getting to recharge. It never happened, but on several occasions I got home late with <10% power left. Not a comfortable feeling! If something came up and I was suddenly driving out of state, solving a problem somewhere, I knew I'd be without my Blackberry at some point on the trip if I couldn't find a charger. And the time to plug in. That definitely sucks. The new 1500 mAH battery gives me a safety net and a warm, fuzzy feeling.

I agree. The little bit of extra juice on tap is a great safety net. I have the 2600mAh Seidio battery also...and although it's amazing, it's just too big to use as my "everyday" battery. The OEM-like size of the 1500mAh is just right for me...

I wanna buy this thing but so far it seems hit or miss with not everyone seeing an improvement. I would like to see some real world testing from one of you guys.

Currently I do lots emailing, light browsing, light phone'ing during the week and LOADS!$#%!! of music with my curve. I haven't logged specifically but off the top I'd say I charge my curve for approx 2/3 hours in the evening or night before bed. I tend to have go without charging while I sleep and have it with me through-out the day also not charging at any point. So with roughly 2-3 hours of charge I can get about 21/22 hours and end up with about 15/20% charge.

I should get all scientific and start logging some numbers, get the extended battery and compare.

I believe lithium ion batteries do better when they are charged often, and topped off. I leave mine charging throughout the night and even leave it plugged in after it is done charging. I am not as mobile as most people, though. But I believe you need to give it more charging time in order to realize the full potential of the battery.

With the extended battery from Seidio I believe they recommend charging it (the first time) for 8 hours prior to use.

It is if you need more cowbell! I have the Seidio extended for the 8100 (1250mah vs 900 for oem). It gets me at least an extra day's worth of use. The 8300 oem has 1100 and the Seidio 1500, so that's a slightly better increase % wise. if you use WiFi I'm sure the battery dies pretty fast.
