Hi,
I'm trying to get BB maps to work,but all i get are diagonal lines
all other applications work fine(mail,calendar,browser)

some info:
8820 v4.2.2.116 (platform 2.4.055)
bb maps version 1.2.26
I'm using BES (rules allows bb maps)
GPS works (finds satelites)
we use proxy to access internet
NO active BIS

questions:
Do I need an additional bis account to use bb maps?
Does bb maps need proxy verification (doesn't ask when starting up)
the url where bb maps gets his maps (to check if blocked on firewall)

You don't need a BIS account. You do need a BB data plan.

Do I need an additional service book sent by the bes for bb maps?

I've got the same issue, and think I've tracked it back to BB Maps trying go get through our proxy, but does not ask for authentication (BB Browser will do this)

Does anyone know the URL or IP for the maps data? So can then add that into BES as pypassing the proxy (or at least try)

I am very new to this, only had my BB a few days.

Haven't had too many problems setting up and I am by no means good with computers BUT I can only get diagonal lines for BB maps and I couldn't get Google Maps to wotk either. HELP

I have an 8310 supplied by t-mobile uk with webn'walk and an email package.

I can browse, do email and even use mobi books, but this map thing has me stumped.

Whilst waiting for a reply to my problem I found out how to search around the forum. Got a link to a series of settings and now I have BB Maps running.

Aren't forums wonderful
