My job received a demon BB 8330 and a staff member wants to test it out. I am sure I can activate the Curve on the BES without a problem. My question is I'll be taking out the staff members 8830 and replacing it with the Curve on the BES but will they be able to retain the phone number and use it with the 8830? If clarification is needed, please let me know. Also, I'm sorry if this is a repost, but I didn't have time to do a search.

You probably need to call your carrier (Verizon?) and have them activate the 8330 and replace the 8830. It is nothing different than buying a new phone. Once that gets done, you should be able to activate it on the BES.
That is what the staff person want to avoid. She wants to retain the 8830 for phone calls, but test out the 8330 (Curve) for the data portion. My question is can this be done.
If Verizon gave you a true Demo phone, it should already be activated with a demo number. If not, call your Sales Rep and get them to do it for you. I have had many demo phones from Verizon and they all come preactivated with a number, but I have never demo'd a BB.
Adding it to the BES shouldn't be more than just sending her a new activation email and password and having her activate it there then.
Yes, the demo already has a phone number. I know activating on the BES shouldn't be a problem, but will the user be able to use their original Blackberry's phone even though the demo is activated?
You would have to take her current BB off the BES and activate the new one. Then she would still get calls to her current phone and get her data to the new curve.

Yes, that was what I was asking !! So to confirm, the user can use her current BB8830 to send and receive calls, but also test out the Curve for e-mails ONLY (after BES activation). Yes, she'll be having two devices, but the Curve is a demo from Verizon which she wants to test.
