Default Unable to view word documents & jpeg attachments

Please Login to Remove!

Maybe I am losing my mind, but I am pretty sure I was able to view word document file attachments and jpeg picture attachments in emails on my 8310 from ATT.

Now I can't. I did have a failed errr, beta, upgrade which almost bricked my 8310 but restored back to my previous "latest" non-beta software version as posted on this site. I do run BBSmart but was also running it before.

Maybe I am wrong on word docs but I KNOW I was able to open a jpeg image right from my email without saving it first.

What am I missing? Or do I have "mad cow?"

ok since its 2 types of file formats that should be supported for VIEWING on the Blackberry, then its not a password protected .doc file; issue most likely is the "BlackBerry Attachement" service book is missing from your blackberry or its currupt.

* From Home Screen> Options> Advanced Options> Service Books: Find "Blackberry Attachment ..." if its there Delete it and confirm deletion.

IF not just ignore and proceed further...
* From Home Screen> Options> Security Options> General Settings: scroll ALL the way down and highlight the listing under "***Services***" click on the Menu Key and then select Regenerate Encryption Key.

Or if you're on a BES ask the admin to resend service books. Should resolve once its back in Service Books :D

If you need the Blackberry Attachment option install the Desktop Manager to your PC, download and install the OS file for the version you have on your device, then plug in your phone and run the Application Loader.

When you get to the list of stuff you can install/uninstall make sure to put a check mark in the attachment option.
