I have BIS with Verizon on my Curve. I have a boatload of blocked SMS/MMS messages in my log (just the way I wanted it, I shouldnt have to pay for SMS if I have a smartphone now). Just curious...do I still get charged for these messages? I found a $4+ increase in my bill due to the SMS/MMS deliveries.

If I do get charged for SMS/MMS even though I'm blocking them, do I have to call VZW to disable this feature?

Yes, and you do need to call them. Those blocked messages are coming to your account, whether or not you read them is your choice.

Wait..I just thought of something.

Voicemail notifications (alerts) come thru SMS configurations. If I remove SMS/MMS from my account on verizon, then I'll potentially lose my voicemail notifications too?

VZW will probably send those anyway. They will know.

I imagine you will still get those, they are like the "FREE ALERT" messages that Verizon sends out every now and then, they don't get charged for.
