Default HELP PLEASE> OS updated: now OperaMini doesn't connect as before...why??

Please Login to Remove!

ok, I have updated the OS, but I am sure that before OperaMini was working good!!

my OperaMini browser doesn't work any more as with the last 4.5 OS: now I just can't keep the fiewall ON and I must turn it OFF, otherwise I get several error messages about the application 'operette $2dhifi' attempting to open a connection to a location inside the firewall ad outside the firewall which is not allowed by my IT policy, and after that I get an error 900 from the browser!!!
Before I was able to have the firewall ON with no problem at all.

with the firewall OFF (thing thnat I don't want because my MSN-Messenger app would not work correctly with the firewall OFF), each first time I load a page I am always informed that OperaMini is attempting to acces 'server4.operamini.com', and asks me if I would like to allow that!!
Even if I say YES, it continues asking me that each time I load a web site for the first time in each session of OperaMini. this means tht if I close OperaMini and then try load the browser again and try to connecto to the same website, this thing is asked me again!!!!!

Ah! I forgot: this happens with the application permitions of OperaMini set as the Default options and EVEN IF THEY ARE ALL SET AS 'Allow'!!! O_O No difference at all!!!

how can I fix this? I have made several battery reset but with no good news.... THANK YOU!!

I'm experiencing the same thing. Its happened a couple of times before but normally after a battery pull and a minutes wait time its running like new. But this time around its been not working for almost 2 days now. Forcing me to resort to the original web browser that came installed with the phone. Which works perfectly fine by the way.

Any suggestions?

You need several things for Opera. You need apn settings entered under Options >Advanced Options >TCP.

You also need firewall permissions set. I recommend going into the firewall settings and select "reset firewall prompts."

If you have firewall issues like the OP (split pipe connection issue--inside/outside firewall) you may have IT policy on the device (or a blank IT policy) preventing this type of connection.

I made it!
  1. had to insert the APN info again (was not there any more, while after OS upgrade was still there!!)
  2. had to reset firewall settings
  3. had to reinstall OperaMini
  4. had to check to enable every access at first OperaMini boot

thank you for everything! you are always great! ;)
