I just got a new bb curve and have not installed the software that came with it. I have heard some people have had problems after they installed it. Do I have to install it? What happens if I don't?

Blackberry Desktop Manager allows you to a) install an OS, b) remove programs from the OS, c) Install programs that are .alx, d) backup the phone, e) restore the backup and f) sync the phone.
