Default OS 5.x.411 Wont install?

Please Login to Remove!

No matter what I try.....I have removed the vendor.xml and no go.

It just shuts off when it tries to upload RAM image and wont load.

Any ideas?

I have updated my 9700 TONS of times without issue, but this 8900 is causing me grief?

I have to ask. Is the OS that you're trying to install _for_ the 8900?

well, uploading the ram image is when loader.exe is loading temporary software into the devices ram so that it can coninue loading the OS. if it quits at that point, it might be because the ram image is bad or some other communication failure.

check the USB cable. and completly uninstall all device software packages.

you could also try a battery pull (but leave it out for a few min) then put it back in.

One thing that just occured to me...

did you install BB Dm and set it check for updates!?

if so, thats the reason why. Deleting vender.xml is a good step, but often the mechanisms that do the auto update keep a copy of this file in memory.

go to add/remove programs and uninstall *all* blackberry related software... the OS packages and the DM software.

if you need to reinstall the DM, do so after you install the OS package and try the upgrade.

and when you do install the DM, make sure you uncheck alll the boxes asking if oyu want to allow automatic update checking.
