My new BB 7250 doesn't charge when I plug it into my laptop (via USB, of course) or when I plug it into my cigarette lighter/USB adapter. But it charges just fine when I plug it into my home PC. My home PC has the blackberry desktop software loaded, my laptop doesn't. Would that make a difference?

On the laptop you have to install both the desktop manager and the handheld software(this is the one that actually has the drivers the laptop needs to see the BB). On the car unit I would first look and see that a) the cigarette lighter is working to begin with(test it with the lighter itself) b) that there are no blown fuses on either the car itself for the lighter or the charger. If the lighter works, and there are no blown fuses then I would say the cord itself is bad.

Thanks KronTiki! I'll check the fuses and such, but I'm sure the outlet works, since I charged my other phone with it last week. Hmmm...

Oh yeah, one other funny thing I forgot to mention: when my BB is charging on my home PC, it gets to 99% charge and then the "found new device" sound goes off and the BB momentarily goes to 100% charge and right back to 99%. In a couple minutes, it does it again. I left it on charge last night, with the PC on, and it made noise half the night until I realized what it was. ANyone else get that weird behavior?
