Hi guys, I am a first time Blackberry user as I purchased a Storm off ebay for 60 bucks.

( COme from 4 generations of iPhones )

I have a problem though, I hear these horror stories about people not being able to get their service books to their phones because they have an improper data plan. Mine appears to be that way...

I have this

-Unlimited Calling
-Unlimited Canadian Texts & USA Texts
-Unlimited Instant Messaging for popular communities
-Applications that are applicable: BlackBerry® Messenger, Windows Live™ -Messenger, GoogleTalk, Yahoo!® Messenger
-Unlimited Personal Email

Will I Be able to send my service books to my device? If not how can I send them or whatever the procedure is. My Storm comes in the mail this week so I would like to know in advance if I will want to smash my head on the desk now or later.

Also, I hear people get this "Vanishing icons and stuff" When they put their sim in the Browser and other email apps etc will just go away, How do i get those back if that happens. Because aparently ROGERS does not have BB Storm service books??? I am very sorry if a lot of these questions are "idiotic" but I myself have no idea what I am getting into besides the fact that everybody at my school has BBM and told me to get it.

The easiest way to solve the problem is buy a blackberry that your carrier supports.

I would buy the storm from ROGERS but they do not have it..

Some guys claimed to get one working on Rogers a couple years ago but nobody would post pictures of it and a lot of folks thought they were just lying about getting it to work. Do a google search for "blackberry storm rogers" and poke around.

Been there done that :( I've been looking for a while and just decided to buy one and try it for myself. Its all Why rogers wont carry the storm etc..

are there any general rogers service books laying around? Ive been looking but cant find any, Only T-Mobile and AT&T

General service books won't help. You need specific ones from your carrier for the exact model BlackBerry. This is a dead end with no workarounds.
