Default newbie mac guy, considering buying pc!

Please Login to Remove!

I love my new 8700g and my 2 year old powerbook G4. Considering all the syncing issues for Mac users, may this newbie ask: what programs for PC do I need for flawless syncing in BOTH directions between the 8700 and the PC?
I need appointments and address book, txt message would be nice, but..

Nothing fancy, just high reliability and simplicity is sought.
I own an XP version of Windows that I haven't used since I got the G4.

thanks

The most common sync partner with the blackberry is Microsoft Office. You can use outlook to sync all of your contacts, appointments, memos, and tasks.

There are other variations of PIM programs out there, but by far, Outlook is the most popular.

Oh and make sure you install your Desktop Manager software. But you knew that already didn't you?

Stick with your pbook. Use pocketmac to sync your contacts and calendar. If you don't need email sync, why switch?

Along those same lines, I am trying to install desktop software on a pc and keep getting a "malicious" something or other identified. I've been through these forums, downloaded updates, etc. All day and still no luck in getting this installed.

On the other hand, pocketmac gives the bb software away for free and in 10 minutes I downloaded it to my PB, installed and filled the bb with all my data from iCal, address book, tasks, and notes. There are several options for syncing programs.

Works like a charm so far. That's why I love mac.

Question is, do I ever have to install the windoze desktop--do you have to use it to install programs or themes? If I'm not mistaken, I think you can do this through bb browser.
