Hey guys and gals...

Ive been trying to search the forum for my answer...

Unlocking..i know how its done...but i dont know what the restraints are concerning data.

For instance...if i get any blackberry and unlock it...would it work with my carrier..when it comes to data....

How does the data side work...

Thanks

OK, you know how unlocking is done. Great.

Do you know WHY you "need" to unlock?

Let's start at the beginning - what are you trying to do?

ok..unlock for another carrier..

i used to have a mpx220, unlocked from hong kong..

i had to change some settings to make it work with rogers (sms and data)

I wanted to know if n e thing like this would happen with the bberry...(i know i have to change the phone number for the sms...) but the data is my concern..

By the way you replied im guessing once its unlocked...everything is going to work..gps and bberry gprs...

You'll be fine, I used an unlocked 7290 from Cingular for some time on the Robbers network. When it comes to data on the BlackBerry you require a BlackBerry Data Plan, not unlimited gprs etc. a BlackBerry Data Plan no if and or but's.
