Default T-mobile in a building

Is there any tips for people in a building with t-mobile?

I just switched from verizon and being in an office building, convention center, or hotel with my 7100 is painful.

any tips? is Cingular better?

I think this has to be area specific. I have had great reception with my TMO 7100 in buildings around where I live. I used to be on sprint and in the same seat in my office I couldn't receive calls. I switched to TMO and never have a problem. So I am not sure what help is out there, although you could probably look into a signal booster. I am not sure if those are for real or not though.

San Francisco has notoriously bad cellular coverage for all the carriers, but I usually don't have much trouble in office buildings in high density areas like downtown. Residences, on the other hand, barely ever seem to work.

For your house you might consider a signal repeater. The signal boosters that attach to your battery and are supposed to increase your signal by 1000% are gimmicks, but mounting an antenna on your house with a repeater would be the best way that you could increase your signal. Check out this article at http://www.ronhazelton.com/html/613a.html

A friend of mine tried repeater from a company called Wireless Extenders. It has helped him to get calls inside his home. There is a review on this product. Go to http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a...reviews&id=660

I would not spend money on this $2 antenna booster. will not work.

glad to hear that San Francisco area has crappy signals for all carriers...i get great service just about everywhere except my house. When I am near a window i can usually get 1 or 2 bars of service, but i don't get any emails or calls unless I have been sitting by the window for a few minutes...

We have about 90 Verizon 7750's and 30 T-Mobile 7100's. Most everyone likes the 7100 style and features, and the International coverage, but hates the domestic coverage. I've had a few users switch back to Verizon, giving up Bluetooth, etc.

I'm testing a Cingular 7100g now, and the domestic coverage seems better, at least in Central Ohio.

international coverage through tmobile is AWESOME...well, i have only taken advantage once, and to my surprise it was seamless...and it didn't even cost an arm and a leg!

I have T mobile and I get great coverage in buildings. But, at home it goes down a little cause from what there coverage locator said I was right on the fringe of medium coverage. I was with cinuglar before this and I had great coverage. But, their customer service EXTREMELY SUCKS.

Mine works in my office building everywhere, even inside the elevator. The Tmo service is good in West LA.

What's funny, tho... is when Tmo opened their store in Marina Del Rey, CA, Tmo had NO SIGNAL anywhere in that area yet. So they had to install special equipment on the roof. They couldn't sell a phone there to save their lives before then.

My sister was the manager and had to keep her Verizon phone while working there. (Tmo paid her Verizon bill)

All in all I have been extremely impressed with TMO so far. Their customer service is excellent and I have received coverage in places that I did not think I would.

lmao. who ever thought that a strong signal was necessary to sell a phone. omg.

too bad that verizon sells crappy phones. that's the only reason i switched to t-mobile. verizon had their "get it now" bs which charged 1.99 for crappy ringtones and there was no way to bypass and copy midis from your computer. with tmobile, you could get a variety of phones, all of which had back doors through which you could hack in and send photos, ringtones, etc.
