Default Trouble Configuring OWA - Guessing a Port Number Problem

Please Login to Remove!

I have been at this for a few days, and have tried every conceivable way of entering the information.

I have a Curve 8330, trying to configure it to connect to a 2007 OWA server. Unfortunately my OWA server is configured to use port 8443 rather than 443.

That's where I think the problem is, because every time I enter my mail address (mail.whatever.com:8443/owa) the error message I get only returns the mail.whatever.com/owa. Almost like the BlackBerry is ignoring the port number all together.

I am the system administrator for the Exchange Server and I have gone over all of my setting multiple times. Any help at all would be great (even if it is bad news - at least I can stop thinking about this and just use IMAP)

Thanks,
- Sean

Some good news/bad news depending on how you look at it. No, BIS will not configure port 8443. Go have a beer now and quit thinking about it.

Here is a list of supported ports:

* Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) / Internet Message Access Protocol 4 (IMAP4) with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or non-SSL using standard ports:
o 110: POP3, non-SSL
o 995: POP3, SSL
o 143: IMAP4, non-SSL
o 993: IMAP4, SSL
* Microsoft® MSN® HTTP (Microsoft® Hotmail)
* CS2000 (AOL®)
* Microsoft® Outlook Web Access 5.5, 2000, 2003, and 2007 using standard ports:
o 80: OWA, non-SSL
o 443: OWA, SSL

Why is your CAS configured to run off of port 8443?

Unfortunately I work for a small organization (Nonprofit) where I only have one Static IP address. We are also using a Terminal Server on Server 2008 with a TS Gateway which uses port 443. I thought of changing things around, but that may turn into more of a hassle.

Thanks for the reply, figured that was the case - not to many of us that have changed the port number.
