Am I asking too much of my 8320 to function?
Please Login to Remove!
Ok so here's my rant, please bare with me. I had a jailbroken iphone I had used for a while until I was approached to trade it for a new 8320 and 200 dollars. I had to do it since the battery just sucked on the iphone. Cool so far,got a new and yes it was new,I checked the lifetime on the phone counter first and this was from a friend who upgraded. That's not the issue. What really has gotten to me is that after only eight months,I've had trackball issues, now the click to enter part doesn't work at all. I've taken care of my phone and no,it hasn't been dropped. I have changed the trackball assembly once when the ball just went smooth on me. I don't get this thing wet. Bottom line,I take care of my stuff and is too much to ask that a phone,as exspensive as they are getting to be,last more than six to eight months and still function comepletely right?am I just asking too much?

Do you carry the device in your pocket? Lint and dirt can get in and around the trackball causing it not to work as advertised.

I admit I did carry it in my back pocket for a while when I first got it. I had a skin on it then but your point is taken about that after I read several posts saying your exact words. I then thought I'd gotten smart and got a clear case with the belt clip thing and have done that ever since. Total time in back pocket was probably a couple months. Would that be enough to be causing these issues now?I mean later down the line?thanks for your quick reply.

He asked because when dealing with used BlackBerrys, you have no idea if there were problems with them before.
So you have a used BlackBerry, that you carried in your back pocket for "a couple months" and you are surprised you have trackball problems?
You are expecting too much.

You could have said it ten times, and I would still ask... new to you is not always "brand new in the box".
Anyway, you know the answer to your question. If you're still having issues, try exchanging for a remanufactured device from your carrier

Your rite it was new, yes it was new and I guess I missed that in the first thread which was difficult to read. I guess english is my first language so I didnt read that properly. I apologize for missing that it was new, yes new even though it probaly wasn't new, yes new, and that it was the iphone that was used and you traded it for three magic beans. Doesn't matter since carrying a device in the back pocket is not a good idea but since it was new, yes new, then whatever. Good luck in the future and im glad you take good care of your equipment when it is new, yes new.

DAng, you were able to state it was "new" nine times.
Actually, ten times. I didn't think friends were official retailers of "new" devices. Had the friend been an official retailer, you might have a warranty.

Read your original post. Carefully. Note the lack of punctuation and improper grammer. I was mocking you. Nothing more.
