Default Blackberry deletes my emails after an hour

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I'm really new to this forum and blackberry's in general. I received my blackberry a few weeks ago and now its starting to act up. The main problem I'm having with it right now is that on one of my email accounts (the account for work), messages automatically delete after an hour or so. I saw this posted already on the forums but I do not think the problem was resolved. If anyone has had this problem and has found a solution please do let me know. Thanks!

Are you sure that it is the device that is doing it?

Are you on BES or BIS?

Is email deleted from just the BB or from your PC's email client as well?

I have the same problem, but only on some emails. I can't find a pattern. It only happens on my BB, not my email client. I don't know what difference is between BIS or BES

Hi all,

Yes, its the device that is doing it. I constantly check my email client and all my messages are there. I am currently on BIS. All my other accounts (yahoo, and google) are fine. Its the account for work that keeps erasing. Would anyone know how to solve this?

The only thing I can think of to look at or try has to do with the reconciliation options on the device and the BIS option to sync with the inbox, or howvever that optionis worded. Set the conflicts to something different than what it is now. If it is set to device wins, change it to mailbox wins. Experiment and see what happens.

Do you leave your email client on all the time? If you email program downloads the email before you open it and strips it of your server it won't be on your BB. Try turniing off your email on your computer when not around and see if that stops it.

I thought that was already addressed (that is, leaving the email on the server), but bidaci is right. If your email client is deleting the email from the server after download, it may be possible that BIS is then removing it from the blackberry device. Maybe. It's worth checking out.

If your client downloads and deletes the email before BIS grabs it, that email will never make it to the blackberry in the first place.
